Assessment

Due to long assessment waiting lists, critical early diagnoses has become delayed for many. Many children with adhd experience anxiety, learning difficulties, sleeping problems, low self esteem and much more. This often leads to children reaching adulthood without being given a chance to reach their full potential. Here at Insightful adhd minds we deliver quality care in a timely manner.

Once you have decided that Insightful adhd minds are for you, I will:

​

• Send you the required forms including consent form, a simple questionnaire for background information and medical history 

• Liaise with school for educational background

• Book a date for the initial consultation at which point we will discuss and book your child's assessment

• Within 48 hours of completion of the assessment the report will be with you

The initial consultation can be completed face to face at your home. Alternatively, a Microsoft Teams meeting can be arranged if preferred. If the preference to carry out the assessment is via Teams, observation at your child's school will most likely be needed to complete a thorough assessment. ADHD indicators are more likely to be observed when your child feels comfortable, this is why I feel it is important for the relaxed atmosphere.

 

The consultation allows us to speak about your concerns. I will be observing how your child interacts during a period where concentration will be a test for them. The initial consultation should take no more than 60 minutes. At this point, if we both agree that it is appropriate to continue to the assessment, I can in most cases complete the assessment on the same day. The assessment will take 60-90 minutes (less if combined with the initial consultation) but if a school observation is needed, a further appointment will be required.

I endeavour to send the report within 48 hours of completing the assessment.

Once you have received your completed adhd assessment report, I will make myself available to go over the report with you to explain my findings. At this point we can discuss anything that you feel might be need to be added or emphasised to be better assisted with EPA supporting evidence.
